Areas of application for the oxy-fuel burner

The burner is mainly used to ignite the cupola furnace. It is also used to preheat the casting ladles and to dry new linings (new, refractory inner coating of the casting ladles).

The natural gas-oxygen burner has the energy advantage over a natural gas-air burner in that the fuel requirement is significantly lower. In addition, the ladles, furnaces, converters and troughs can be heated up relatively quickly. Depending on the design and refractory lining, a ladle temperature of between 1250 and 1450 °C can be reached within just under an hour using the oxy-fuel burner. The temperature differences between the heated ladle and the molten material are very small. The high ladle temperature also increases the product quality.
