Split pulleys and clamping hubs

The optimal facilitation for assembly and disassembly

In many cases the whole drive with all components needs to be elaborately dismantled and afterwards reinstalled when exchanging or replacing drive pulleys. To simplify this process we offer split pulleys which can be disassembled in two halves and perfectly put together again at the shaft.

We produce all sorts of split pulleys (v-belt pulleys, flat belt pulleys, band wheels etc.) as exclusive custom-made products. Depending on the requirement the pulley will be implemented as arm or plate pulley.

All geometries can be easily produced in a flexible, model-free moulding process. Split pulleys are produced from batch sizes larger than 1 piece for urgently needed spare parts , prototypes, zero-series models or series according to individual requests or drawings. In close cooperation with the customer we develop the optimal solution for individual drives.

To produce split pulleys, the raw casting is blasted into two halves in a controlled manner - using predetermined breaking points - and immediately rejoined and fixed. The structure of the grey cast iron, which hardly deforms elastically at all before breaking, is used to achieve a perfect fit at the breaking point for seamless rejoining. Designs in alternative materials (ductile iron, steel, aluminium) are NOT possible.

Many decades of experience in casting with a predetermined breaking point, blasting and subsequent mechanical processing of the split discs result in a customised, highly sophisticated drive unit.

Clamping hubs

Drive pulleys with clamping hubs are characterised by their relatively easy installation on the shaft. Thanks to the slotted design, they can be quickly and easily fitted to the shaft, adjusted and clamped / fixed in the optimum position. They are secured axially using cylinder or hexagon head screws. Fastening elements such as bushes or clamping sets are no longer required, reducing the assembly effort. The tolerances of the shaft bores in clamping hubs always correspond to an interference fit. Clamping hubs can also be supplied with a keyway for transmitting very high torques. Dismantling is also made easier and fretting corrosion is no longer a problem.
