Grooved drum as steel-welded construction

In this case, the challenge of the project was to produce the lightest possible cylindrically shaped grooved drum.

As an alternative to the heavier cast variant made of grey cast iron, the grooved drums were in this case welded together from S355J2H steel flame-cut components and semi-finished components and machined to the customer specifications. After the highly accurate turning of the total of eighteen grooves, the drums were then statically balanced according to quality standard G16.
